There is a stunning vista to the Golden Gate Bridge and we took our color cues from the 'Gate' itself, by deciding to work in all shades of terracotta — from the coral red bark of the Sango Kaku maples, to the luxurious hue of the 17th century Verona marble table, and the pale terracotta shade of the chenille upholstered seating sectional.

The star in this composition is the very old Tunisian well bucket in copper — a gift from my dear friend, Raouf Benfarhat.

I found this marvelous old iron Pan mask at the New York Garden Show. This past fall, I shipped it to Bangkok and had a mold made so that we could offer it in bronze. I'm keeping the iron version — for now. Flanked by ancient Thai pottery —ahhh, the many hues of terra cotta.

Fantastic shipwreck-recovered pottery with an old monkey God, Hanuman, which was also marine excavated. Notice all the barnacles and shells that encrust these pieces.

Working together to please the eye — the 'Tiny Tower' Italian cypress is right out of the Italian landscape frescoe.
