Magnificent Gardens of Minnesota
Garden Design's self-guided day trip to 3 unique Minnesota gardens.
Minnesota is home to the Mall of America, which receives over 40 million visitors a year, as well as Paisley Park, Prince’s extraordinary private estate and production complex in Chanhassen, that is now open to visitors.
If you’re looking for something more peaceful, local garden expert and fifth generation nurseryman Ryan McEnaney has got the perfect day planned for you, visiting three beautiful gardens that are all within easy driving distance of St. Paul.
Ryan recommends you begin your day at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum near the beautiful Lake Minnetonka. Whether you choose to walk, drive, or take the tram through this large garden, you will find plenty to see and can easily spend a full morning here. After lunch, a 20-minute drive will take you to Noerenberg Memorial Gardens, a peaceful garden noted for its delightful plant combinations in a formal setting. Finish your day at Como Park and explore the historic Conservatory, with its colorful seasonal displays in the Sunken Garden, together with several other beautifully curated collections and gardens.
