2011 APLD Annual International Landscape Design Awards

This year's Annual International Landscape Design Awards are being presented at the 2011 APLD International Design Conference, which is being held from June 13 to 17, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Winners are chosen from seven different categories—residential, non-residential, small garden, show garden, planting design, cost-efficient project, and specialty project—and are judged on creativity, project impact, technical merit, and planting design.
The title of "Landscape Designer of the Year" went to the designer behind the top entry, Suzanne Arca, who created the DiPrisco Meadow Garden.

2011 APLD International Landscape Designer of the Year and Gold Award Winner: Suzanne Arca & Suzanne Arca Design
Suzanne Arca transformed a one-acre property into a child-friendly space with multiple outdoor rooms for dining and entertaining, with native plants and other Mediterranean-climate compatible plants replaced asphalt in this Californian home.
The judges said that "the project deftly transformed a typical suburban yard into a sophisticated and sustainable design."
